vmware workstation v7.1 の環境にて、Cent OS 5を導入しております。

vmware-toolsをインストールしたいのですが、英語が解読できず困っております。


問題の箇所は下記です

どのような操作をすれば良いのでしょうか？

どなたかアドバイスのほどよろしくお願いいたします。

おそらくgccのパスを聞いてるんじゃないでしょうか。
なんらかの理由でgccまでのパスが設定されてないので、
What is the location of the gcc program on your machine?→その場所（絶対パス）をどこにするか？
と訪ねているのではないでしょうか。

Enterではなくgccのパスを与えてやればいいような気がします。

Enterを押すと、何も入力が与えられないので、
The path "" is not valid path to the gcc binary.→当然ですが""は無効なパスだと言っている。
gccのパスを入力してEnterを押せば、""の部分にパスが入って、問題なければエラーは吐かないはず…。


初心者ですので大いに勘違いしているかもしれませんので信用しないでください…。

こちら素人で、操作もままなりません。

確認ですがgccは本当にインストールされていますか？
インストールを検証してみてください。

# rpm -qi gcc　のコマンドの実行結果を教えてください。

これはインストールされているということでよいのでしょうか。

コンパイルする必要がありますよ、といわれているのでしょうか。。

正常にインストールされていれば
# whereis gcc

で有効なディレクトリパスが表示されるはず。
そのパスを指定しても駄目ならgccの再インストールですかね。

面倒なら、
# yum -y install gcc*
とかで様子見てください。

お世話になっております。
すいません、問題のあるOSはVMで動かしていたのですが
諸事情によりOSごと再導入することになりました。

その結果、vmwaretoolsを正常に使用する事ができました。


gccについては、ほかのCentOSにて再度検証させていただきます。
アドバイスありがとうございました。
